This yarn was spun from a 65/35 silk/linen blend from Sanjo Silk. I used a short forward draw with firm smoothing, with the goal of a true worsted yarn. I occasionally had to pick out a piece of the flax, as it would sometimes stick out at odd angles or tangle up and alter the smooth appearance of the yarn. This yarn is a 2 ply, spin Z and plied S, approximately 18 WPI, with a 35° twist angle. I have a total of 798 yards of the unwashed yarn (I generally don't remeasure the washed yarn because I'm lazy), with 560 yards in skein 1 and 238 yards in skein 2. I worked on this spin between December of 2020 and April of 2021. It was lovely to spin, but a bit tricky to get a smooth and consistent yarn because the linen behaves quite differently than the silk. This was a spin purely for pleasure, I didn't even make a control sample. I just let my hands and the fibre figure out together how the yarn wanted to be.

Resting on the yarn are an old fashioned key, two pieces of amethyst, and nestled at the top of the frame, an oval of labradorite. The labradorite appears to be lit from within with flashes of blue, green, yellow, and orange. The scene is bathed in diffuse sunlight.]
